FTC Budget Request to Congress

Author: Lance Winslow

On or about February 6, 2006 the Federal Commission knew or should have known that they filed a report with the United States Congress, which clearly in my opinion embellished, misrepresented and de-frauded truth or any possible perception thereof. In a letter to the Honorable Frank R, Wolf; Chairman Subcommittee on Science the FTC made claim that they needed more monies to further pursue criminal activity to stop various problems in our civilization. Yet they failed to reveal the truth about their piss poor performance in nearly every sector that they were active.

The FTC in a letter attempted budget justification for the Agency in support of the President' s fiscal year 2007 budget request. And get this the FTC wanted 223 Million Dollars of Taxpayers money. At a time when the average consumer is being inundated with SPAM, worried about identity theft and left high and dry as they continue to get dinner time phone calls despite the Do Not Call List campaign of the FTC.

The 223 Million Dollars was a 13 million dollar increase of 2006; why does it not surprise me that every time an agency fails in their duties to protect the American People that they ask for more money the next year? Sheesh! Of course the agency admits that to maintain its current endeavors even as bad as they are they need at least this much money. Why bother; shouldnt we close the agency and label it as inefficient and wasteful; why should the taxpayers have to pay for their mistakes? The FTC of course states that to; Continue to meet the increasing challenges of its Consumer Protection and Maintaining Competition Missions that is must have at least this amount of money?

That my friends is the typical crap that goes on in Washington DC every year and why there is no agency with a barrel of minutia, we keep paying more and getting less. We need to downsize these agencies. Lets start by putting the Federal Trade Commission on a diet shall we? Consider this in 2006.
